Given how President Trump has the democrats and their mayors ‘pinned to the mat’ on the crime issue-
And given that even the terribly slanted associated press is admitting that trump’s approval ratings are up five points-and the best they have ever measured in either of his terms-
This-
Is a great move: Trump’s White House is working with congress to craft a comprehensive crime bill....to be voted on before next fall’s elections.
Fantastic.
Not only does this guarantee that crime remains an important issue into next year’s races- but it also ensures that every democrat congressman and senator- and by extension-every democrat in the country- is forced to take a stand on crime.
Are you for it or against it?
Don’t mush words...or toss out ‘restorative justice’ nonsense and falsehoods: yes or no, do you want a crackdown on crime?
This is a great move.
Even democrat strategists are admitting Trump has democrats ‘off balance’ on this crime issue, and they’re blasting their own party members for being so stupid: how have you let yourself be put into the position of defending high crime and -by God-refusing to make your own city’s streets safer?
It's remarkable how nearly all of them walked right into the trap here.... like cows strolling right into the stanchion at the slaughterhouse.
But it doesn’t mention-why- President Clinton signed it: it was because he was smart enough to go along with the very popular ‘Newt Gingrich’ conservative house agenda.
The 1994 midterm election was earthshattering. And it was a year in which Gingrich and republicans were smart enough to put out-and run on- a ‘contract with America’ .
Clinton and his team of triangulators were smart enough to see that a political freight train was coming at them-and know that-if he wanted to get re-elected in 2026- he would have to be seen as ‘addressing’ the main issues for the American people.
Gingrich and republicans were. They had a stellar list of promises and were vowing to absolutely get them done.
Clinton and his team were at least smart enough to see the tidal wave coming and grab a surfboard .Plan. Admit that- we’ve got to get on the right side of these issues.
Right? Play smart politics?
And what do i-and others- keep saying about today’s democrats being on the wrong side of all the most important issues?
What dimwits they are. What is it going to take before they wise up and admit their policy positions and nutty rhetoric are killing’ em?
So let’s acknowledge the ‘smart politics’ that the bill Clinton teams engaged in- in contrast to what this era’s nitwits are doing: they are about to let the president and the republican party put a comprehensive crime bill in front of the country...that the radical members of their party base will be furious about and demand they fight....but that 2/3 to ¾ of American voters will eviscerate them for...if they don’t vote for it.
Fantastic.
Please stick with that ‘our cities are safe’ malarkey, because no one’s buying it- especially not the people who actually live! - in these crime-ridden cities.
Listen to a Chicago man who a local news station interviewed. I just happened to run across the clip.
This is Jedediah Brown- who looks to be a middle aged, lower-middle class Black guy in Chicago.
I dunno. Ole’ Jedediah is the sort of person who mayor Brandon Johnson is suggesting needs to ‘take to the streets’ and ‘fight Trump’s troops’ if they arrive.
I don’t think he’ll show...unless it’s to welcome the guardsmen to the neighborhood. Which is how many of Washington DC’s black and brown residents have reacted to trump’s crackdown there- proving that mostly- people just want safe streets.
Lefty dc leaders thought they’d see riots if White guardsmen moved into black neighborhoods to keep the peace...instead.... Big mama and nanna Johnson is bringing the guardsmen pie and lemonade...and thanking them for being there. Which is great to see.
Then there’s this snippet...of another middle-aged black man- in handcuffs...being led away to a squad car...as he’s telling a reporter...and the cops...i don’t know why you even bother to keep arresting me....this is like the sixth time...and I’ll be out within a few hours again.
So, do you think the people of Chicago think these two residents are ‘lying’ to them? Or do they think JB Pritzker and Brandon Johnson are the ones lying to them-when they call Chicago a safe city?
We all know the answer to that.
I’ll take the word of ‘average Black guy’....and ‘average criminal’..... over the word tubby and nitwit.... Who are running things.
And honestly, people: Brandon Johnson is a ‘special type’ of stupid.
This guy is a special type of moron...given the complete nonsense he spouts on any given day.
Rich lowery -is not- the type of person who normally ‘name calls. But even the headline on his piece today is, Brandon Johnson is a moron.
Johnson says arrests and incarceration don’t work- bullplop. The problem is- Chicago hasn’t been doing either- in decades.
Yep. Moron Johnson is a perfect foil for President Trump and the republicans -if trump decides to actually send troops there- uninvited.
The president was right on Monday, when he said, these communities should be inviting our troops in.
Which brings up this suggestion: if there ‘are’ actually any republican mayors who are in charge of crime-ridden cities right now-
And there might be a few leading ‘medium sized’ cities- they’d be smart to invite trump in.
Gavin Newsom and these other democrats keep repeating this bologna about how ‘red states have some of the deadliest cities’...
Well, of course they do because democrats have been running those cities for decades and decades...and generations and generations.
If Missouri is a red state-but St. Louis is a hellhole...well...which party has been running St. Louis for decades?
If Texas is a red state but Houston is a hell-hole-well- who’s been running Houston for decades? Etc.
But if there do happen to be any large or midsized cities in America with a republican mayor atop them at the moment they should ‘invite trump in’. Invite the feds to come and help them get their crime problem under control.
It would be a good move to simply help their community...but it would also be a great political move for trump and republicans: accept the invite. Go into whatever city they’ve been invited into. Repeat their dc strategy. And prove that there-is- an answer to the higher crime...and that democrat lawmakers and leaders simply refuse to admit it, or accept the help.
That’d be a genius move.
