Juan Soto is Trying to Break Up Covino & Rich

Covino and Rich have a heated discussion surrounding Juan Soto's decision to sign with the New York Mets in free agency. Covino, a diehard Yankees fan, views Soto's decision as a crystal clear indicator of who he is deep down as a person: selfish. Rich, a lifelong Mets fan, disagrees completely. To him, Covino is just a salty Yankees fan, upset over the fact that one of his star players opted to sign with a crosstown rival. After 20 years of on-air magic together, could this disagreement spell the end of Covino and Rich's friendship?

Steve Covino: "[Soto] sounds like a selfish player, dude. Even during the season when they would ask him what his chances were of coming back to the Yankees, he would basically always imply that whoever pays him the most is where he's going... And how many players were there on the Yankees roster, people in their clubhouse, other personnel that he saw every day? That's maybe 50 to 100 people who he dealt with on a daily basis, and not one person reached out to him. To me that says more about him than it does about the Yankees. If I were to leave this company, and no one reached out to me to say good luck, does that say more about me, or everybody else? It would imply that I'm a jerk! It's common sense!... Not a single person reached out to [Soto] -- what does that tell you?"
Rich Davis: "It tells me it wasn't a good fit there... I think this is your most foolish speculation in our history of doing the show together... Some of those people had no personal relationship with him, and the one that did decided to stay out of it because it's business!"
Steve Covino: "He wanted to be the guy. He didn't wanna play in Judge's shadow. Judge is a way better player than Soto on every level in every stat, and he didn't wanna play where he wasn't gonna be the guy."
Rich Davis: "We're done here! 20 years of radio and TV together? Done! Done because of Juan Soto. Goodbye!"
