The Milwaukee Brewers are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now after winning their sixth straight game on Friday night by a final score of 7-3 over the San Diego Padres.
Both teams were scoreless until the bottom of the third inning, when the Brewers offense exploded. William Contreras and Willy Adames had RBI singles to give Milwaukee a 2-0 lead. Then, Rowdy Tellez stepped to the plate. Tellez hit a long fly ball into the Toyota Territory at American Family Field with two runners on base. That home run gave the Brewers a 5-0 lead. They never looked back.
Manny Machado hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to make it 5-1. But Brandon Woodruff settled in and closed out six strong innings without allowing another run to cross. Woodruff struck out eleven batters on the night.
Milwaukee added two runs in the seventh inning to increase the lead to 7-1. Despite two runs against Andrew Chafin in the ninth inning, the Brewers won 7-3.
Milwaukee will go for a season-high seven game winning streak on Saturday night at 6:10pm against the Padres. After the game, listen to the Baseball Postgame Show on 97.3 The Game and the iHeart Radio App.
