Marquette has found a use for one of its several open scholarships for the 2020-21 season.
Former national top-40 prospect guard D.J. Carton is transferring from Ohio State to Marquette, as Carton confirmed on his social media Wednesday night.
Carton, who will likely have to sit out 2020-21, will have three years of eligibility with the Golden Eagles. Carton averaged 10.4 points and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 40% from three-point range (24 for 60) in his lone season at Ohio State. The now-former Buckeye started three of 20 games in 2019-20, with a minutes-per-game average of 23.9.
Carton played in just half of the Buckeyes' Big Ten contests (nine of 18).
