The Marquette University men's basketball team will take on UCLA in a home-and-home series during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, it was announced on Wednesday.
The Bruins will host Marquette in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020. UCLA will return to face Marquette at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee in either November or December of 2021.
"We are extremely excited about the opportunity to play a home-and-home series against a tradition-rich program like UCLA," Marquette head coach Steve Wojciechowski said. "It's rare that our schedule takes us to the West Coast, so it's great to be able to provide our Marquette fans in the area the chance to see the team in person, while at the same time bringing another quality non-conference opponent to Fiserv Forum in 2021-22."
UCLA has claimed both of the previous meetings against Marquette. The Bruins won 68-52 on Dec. 31, 1949, during head coach John Wooden's second season at UCLA. In the most recent contest between the two schools, No. 5 UCLA secured a 61-52 victory on Dec. 18, 1964 in Al McGuire's first season with the program.
