Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has assigned forwards Connor Brickley and Tyler Gaudet; defenseman Jarred Tinordi and goaltender Troy Grosenick to the Admirals.
The Admirals roster now stands at 28 players as they kick off training camp Tuesday morning at 10:30 am at Panther Arena. An updated roster is attached.
A Brookfield native, Grosenick is entering his first full season with the Admirals after getting traded to the organization last February. The AHL’s Goalie of the Year during the 2016-17 campaign, Grosenick is a combined 88-60-16 in four seasons with a 2.60 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. He has two games of NHL experience, including a 48-save shutout in on November 16, 2015 against Carolina.
Gaudet had six points (2g-4a) in 21 games with the Admirals last season after being acquired on Feb. 26 from Arizona. He tallied a career-high 28 points (13g-15a) in 69 AHL games with Milwaukee and the Tucson Roadrunners in 2017-18, posting three multi-point efforts. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound center has a goal and three assists in 20 games at the NHL level, all of which have come with the Arizona Coyotes.
Signed as a free against on July 1, Brickley suited up in 44 games for the Florida Panthers last season, registering 12 points (4g-8a) and 19 penalty minutes. It was his second NHL season - both with the Panthers - after he made his NHL debut with Florida on Oct. 10, 2015, and went on to tally five points (1g-4a) in 23 games in 2015-16. The 6-foot, 203-pound forward has notched 102 points (50g-52a) in 195 games at the American Hockey League level, split between stints with the San Antonio Rampage, Portland Pirates and Charlotte Checkers. He tallied 47 points (22g-25a), the second-most on the Rampage, during his first professional season in 2014-15 and tied for fourth in the AHL in game-winning goals with six during his campaign with the Checkers in 2016-17.
Also signed as a free agent this summer, Tinordi recorded 21 points (5g-16a) and had a +19 rating with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in 2017-18, helping them reach the Calder Cup Playoffs for the 16th-straight season. It was Tinordi's best season as a pro, statistically, as he set career highs in goals (5), assists (16), points (21) and plus-minus (+19), the latter of which ranked second among team blueliners. The 6-foot-6 native of Burnsville, Minn., has 63 points (12g-51a) in 290 games at the AHL level, spent with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Tucson, St. John's and Hamilton. Tinordi was an alternate captain for the Tucson Roadrunners during the 2016-17 season.
